Theresa Robbins Obituary

Theresa Barron Robbins, 58, of Riverview, FL, formerly of Ottawa, KS died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital, Riverview FL.

She was born November 18, 1962 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Pablo Barron and Margarita (Garcia) Barron.  She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1981.  Following graduation she went on to graduate from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Theresa proudly served our country in the United State Navy for twenty-two years working in I.T. and communications earning the rank of E-7.

Theresa sacrificed daily for her family, which was the most important thing to her. She served a tour in Iraq and while there she met and helped a woman who was facing a terrible hardship at home, on top of the stress of being deployed herself. Everyone confided in Theresa, she was so easy to talk to and everyone immediately felt comfortable around her upon meeting her. This woman Theresa met in Iraq had two small children who were in a hostile home situation and without hesitation offered the woman her home so the children would be safe, cared for, and loved. The girls lived with Theresa’s family and were cared for until their mother was able to return. Theresa was the person that would offer a stranger her last dollar if it meant they had what they needed to get home safely.

She had a passion for woodworking. She subscribed to way too many woodworking magazines and videos on every project imaginable. Her passion allowed her to craft beautiful chairs and projects around her house that everyone admired when they saw them. To Theresa’s family she was literally the greatest person, plain and simple. She was known for her passion and commitment to everything she did. She loved her friends and family above all else and she will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Margarita Barron.

Theresa is survived by her three children, Christopher Robbins, Charleene Holland, Carrie Rodriguez; three siblings, David Barron, Tino Barron, Esther Barron-Holland; and four grandchildren.
