Timothy Martin Newacheck, 63, of rural Ottawa, Kansas finished his long battle with cancer Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
He was born March 3, 1961, in Russell, Kansas, the eldest son of Marlene Ann (Ronningen) of Carpio, North Dakota, and Karl A. Newacheck of Russell.
Tim attended the Waldo-Paradise-Natoma school district, graduating with the Natoma class of 1979. While in school, Tim participated in basketball, cross country, and track – cross country and track being his favorites. Apart from school he participated in the Boy Scouts. After high school, he attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS for three years.
Tim worked a variety of jobs including dirt construction, dredge operator for the city of Olathe, eight years at Farmers COOP in Lawrence, ten years in the HVAC field, and other various jobs. He was hired in 2012 by Loma Vista Nursery of Ottawa as an equipment operator and was employed there until his death.
His hobbies included riding his antique Harley, fishing, plinking with his vintage firearms, history, and checking out old stuff in general, gardening, specializing in peppers, onions, and tomatoes. He particularly enjoyed supporting Baldwin Bulldogs cross country and track teams. In addition to being a Baldwin Bulldog “Super Fan”, Tim was also an excellent writer as well as a deeply spiritual man. Tim attended and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Baldwin City.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Marlene Newacheck; paternal grandparents, Karl and Mollie (Strecker) Newacheck of Russell; and maternal grandparents, Ella (Wand) and Martin Theodore Ronningen of Carpio, ND.
He is survived by several cousins and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday September 27, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 704 E. 8th St., Baldwin City, KS. Leading into the service, a visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baldwin Education Foundation Tim Newacheck Memorial Fund and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
