Tony Visitacion, age 89, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away March 12, 2023 at Rock Creek of Ottawa. Tony was born February 18, 1934, in Bago, Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, the son of Catalino Visitacion and Natalia (Maruquin) Visitacion. Tony grew up in the Philippines serving his local community as the Barrio Captain until moving to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1968.
Tony was a hardworking, forty year employee for the Honolulu Gas Company in Hawaii. He started in an entry level position in 1969 and was a Supervisor when he retired. His hard work and dedication was known well throughout the company. He inspired many to succeed.
On August 4, 1954, Tony was united in marriage with Victoria Vea in Lipay, Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. They recently celebrated their sixty-eighth year anniversary.
Tony was a loving family man and husband. He was the hardest and smartest worker most of his friends and family knew. He was well known for being available to help someone or volunteer to repair anything a friend, neighbor, or family member needed to have fixed. He recently restored a plumbing system in a rental property, not something a man of his age usually can easily accomplish. He also loved to play solitaire, and adored playing Mahjong.
Tony was the patriarch of five generations of Visitacions, and he is survived by his wife, Victoria Visitacion of Ottawa; his children, Nemecio Visitacion and his wife, Connie, Ottawa, KS, Elvira Tampon and her husband, Fidel, Honolulu, HI, Armando Visitacion and his wife, Nicole, Camarillo, CA, Mariza Lulo and her husband, Billy, of West Covina, CA, Edna Moreno and her husband, Alvaro, Covina, CA; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren and many other family members.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Nestor Visitacion; and his ten siblings, Maura, Amanda, Juanita, Agapita, Tony, Sr., Florencio, Cirilo, Bonifacio, Martin and John.
Memorial funeral services will be at a later date. The family intends to take Tony back to Hawaii after the Memorial.
