Velma Louderback of Princeton, KS passed away on February 3, 2023 at the age of 93 at Advent Health, Ottawa, KS.
She was born February 27, 1929 at in rural Franklin County Kansas the daughter Grant R. Carey and Margaret (Huddleston) Carey. She grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1947.
On August 9, 1953 Velma was united in marriage to Elmer Louderback at the Princeton United Methodist Church. They shared fifty-two years of marriage until the death of Elmer in 2005.
Velma worked at H.D. Lee in Ottawa, KS for eighteen years as a sewing machine operator.
Velma was a member of the Princeton united Methodist Church, the Princeton F.C.E., and the Far and Near Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Ottawa.
She is survived by her children Wayne Louderback, Topeka, KS, Joyce Dalsing and her husband, Francis, Princeton, KS; grandson Myles Louderback; two great grandchildren, Diana and Luke Louderback; three sisters, Marjorie Reeves, Williamsburg, KS, Wilma Atchison, Princeton, KS, Virginia Lancaster, Ottawa, KS; and one brother, Robert Carey, Princeton, KS.
Velma is preceded in death by her husband Elmer Louderback; parents Grant and Margaret Carey; two infant brothers; and a brother Grant “Ray” Carey, Jr.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa, KS. Burial will follow at Princeton Cemetery. The family will greet friends for a visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to the service hour on Saturday.
