Virginia Mae Carter, born March 15, 1946, in Missouri to Clark and Ella Greenlee, passed away Thursday, April 2nd, in Baldwin City, KS.
Ginny grew up in Independence and lived in Peculiar for most of her life. She was a teacher, dancer, volunteer, coordinator, artist, friend, Christmas lover, dedicated Chiefs fan, and child of God.
She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Michael Lynn Carter, who passed in November of 2025.
She is survived by sons Todd and Ted, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family that loved her very much.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 1st, at 2:00 pm at Wood's Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit. Donations can be made to Children's Mercy Hospital in her name. Flowers can be sent to Woods Chapel UMC.
